Mechanical Engineering Ph.D. Student Wins Siemens Energy Graduate Scholarship

Mechanical Engineering Ph.D. student Mark Rubeo has won the 2014-15 Siemens Energy Graduate Scholarship. The $30,000 scholarship will support Rubeo in his research with the Center for Precision Metrology. His thesis topic is "A Feasibility Study on the Application of Laser Tracking Interferometers for Machine Tool Error." Rubeo is currently a student member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), American Society for Precision Engineering (ASPE) and a member of the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi. Two additional finalists, Kang Ni and Sherif Abdelrazek, were also considered for the honor.
