Learning STEM Skills with Robots

As part of the STEM Career Path Project, young people from the Boys and Girls Club of Charlotte were at the Lee College of Engineering’s EPIC building on Friday, Nov. 1, learning about engineering and science by designing, building and programming LEGO MindStorms robots. A photo gallery is here.

The STEM (Science Technology Engineering & Mathematics) Career Path Project (SCPP) is a nonprofit organization founded by Edward McFadden on March of 2012. The SCPP promotes STEM education to students between the ages of 9 and 18. The SCPP impacted approximately 35 students in 2012. As of October 26th, 2013 the SCPP has impacted approximately 243 students.

The SCPP is partners with the Boys and Girls Club of Charlotte, Hands on Charlotte, the Economic Empowerment Initiative (EEI), and UNC Charlotte’s Lee College of Engineering.
