Interdisciplinary solutions to complex engineering and management problems

about_seem

Systems Engineering and Engineering Management (SEEM) is the thriving new program of the UNC Charlotte’s Lee College of Engineering. Although our Master of Science program in Engineering Management has been in operation since Fall 2000, the Bachelor of Science program in Systems Engineering opened its doors in Fall 2008, and produced its first graduates in Spring 2011.

We are located on the second floor of Cameron Hall and our classes are held either in our lab (#213), the Smith Building’s classrooms, or, for some graduate courses, online. Students enjoy a friendly atmosphere and frequent interaction with faculty and staff while learning about state-of-the-art systems engineering and engineering management topics with a special focus on application, systems thinking, communication and leadership.

SEEM offers programs leading to Bachelors', Masters' and Ph.D. degrees as follows:

  • Although SEEM does not have a Ph.D. program, it partners with the Ph.D. programs of the Civil and Environmental Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering and Engineering Science Departments.  As a result, doctoral studies in the areas of systems engineering and engineering management are available through the interdisciplinary Infrastructure and Environmental Systems (INES) Ph.D. program, Ph.D. program in Mechanical Engineering, and the Ph.D. program in Electrical Engineering.
